The Feminist Movement in Today´s Russia
organisiert von:
Frauen*referat der ÖH Uni Wien
Location:
Depot, Breite Gasse 3, 1070 Wien
Far from achieving gender equality, the Soviet official discourse masked blatant discrimination with false claims of its absence. After the fall of the Soviet Union, the women´s movement of the 1990s had to reevaluate all the conventional notions of gender relations, struggling simultaneously to resist a patriarchal renaissance and the decline of political protest as such.
Vera Akulova, Feminist Initiative Moscow, Russia
Lectures will be in English (silent translation to Russian and German possible)
