Workshop: Watch The Med Alarmphone - was steckt dahinter, was kannst du tun?

Nach der spannenden Diskussion im Anschluss der Filmvorführung von „EU 13, The Last Frontier“ am 12. Juni, hat sich das Referat für Menschenrechte und Gesellschaftspolitik der Bundes ÖH entschlossen im Rahmen eines Workshops praktische Möglichkeiten zur Intervention gegen das europäische Grenzregime aufzuzeigen und hat dafür zwei Aktivistinnen vom Watch The Med - Alarmphone & Afrique-europe-interact. Sonia Garziz und Dieter Behr werden nicht nur von ihrer Arbeit sprechen, sondern uns auch zeigen was hinter dem Alarmphone steckt und wie jeder von uns selbst aktiv werden kann!
Watch The Med ist eine Online-Mapping-Plattform, die Todesfälle und Verletzungen der Rechte von Migrantinnen an den Seegrenzen der EU überwacht und dokumentiert und wurde 2012 im Rahmen der Boats4People Kampagne im zentralen Mittelmeer eingeleitet. Heute ist das Projekt breites Netzwerk aus Organisationen, Aktivistinnen und Forscher*innen.
Der Workshop wird in Englisch gehalten.
Die Teilnahme ist gratis, eine Anmeldung ist nicht notwendig.

After the interesting discussion following the screening of „EU 13, The Last Frontier“ on June 12, the Department of Human Rights and Social Policy of the Federal Students’ Union has decided to organize a workshop to demonstrate practical ways to intervene against the European border regime and invited two activists from Watch The Med - Alarmphone and Afrique-europe-interact. Sonia Garziz and Dieter Behr will not only talk about their work, but also show us what is behind the alarm Phone and how everyone of ourselves can be active!
Watch The Med is an online mapping platform to monitor the deaths and violations of migrants’ rights at the maritime borders of the EU. The WatchTheMed project was initiated as part of the 2012 Boats4People campaign in the Central Mediterranean. Today the project further involves a wide network of organisations, activists and researchers.
The workshop will be held in English.
Participation is free, registration is not necessary.
