Freiheit für Ahmed H. und alle Gefangenen der Festung EUropa: 27.10. um 11 Uhr Demonstration vor der ungarischen Botschaft in Wien
Ahmed H.s Fall wurde von der zweiten Gerichts-Instanz erneut an die erste Instanz zurück verwiesen. Die Verhandlung findet am 30.10. und 2.11. in Szeged statt.
Im Rahmen der Solidaritätskampagne „Free the Röszke 11!“ rufen wir zur Kundgebung am 27.10.17 um 11 Uhr vor der ungarischen Botschaft in Wien auf!
Ahmed H. ist einer der vielen Menschen, die am 15.9.2015 am Grenzübertritt von Serbien nach Ungarn bei Röszke/Horgos für die Öffnung der Grenze protestierten. Ungarn hatte seine Grenzen wenige Stunden zuvor geschlossen und jegliches Übertreten zu einer Straftat gemacht. Nach den Protesten wurde Ahmed H. von den ungarischen Behörden festgenommen, die ihn zum Anführer der Proteste stilisierten und des Terrorismus angeklagten. In einem rassistischen, anti-muslimischen Propagandaprozess wurde er am 30.11.2016 des Terrorismus schuldig gesprochen und zu 10 Jahren Haft verurteilt - nach über einem Jahr Isolationshaft. Alle Anträge, ihn zu besuchen, wurden bisher von den Behörden abgelehnt oder ignoriert.
Aufgrund von Mängeln an Begründung und Interpretation des Falls wird das Verfahren nochmals aufgerollt. Die Verhandlung wird nun am 30.10. und 2.11. im südungarischen Szeged stattfinden.
Das Verfahren gegen Ahmed H. ist die beispielhafte Verknüpfung von Rassismus und sogenannter Terrorismusbekämpfung, die insbesondere muslimische Migrant_innen unter Generalverdacht stellt und politische Proteste und ausgeschlossene Personengruppen kriminalisiert.

Die Kundgebung findet am Freitag den 27.10. von 11 bis 12 Uhr vor der ungarischen Botschaft in Wien statt (Bankgasse 4-6, 1010 Wien).

Ahmed H.’s case will be retried on the October 30th and November 2nd in Szeged. Join our demonstration in front of the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna on the 27th of October at 11 a.m.!
Ahmed H. is one of the many people who protested on the border of Hungary at the Röszke/Horgos crossing for the re-opening of the border on the 15th of September 2015. Hungary had closed the border shortly before and made any crossing a criminal offence. Ahmed H. was arrested by Hungarian authorities and accused of being the leader of the protests and a terrorist. On the 30th of November 2016, after over one year of isolation in prison, he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for committing an “act of terrorism” and is since then in high security prison in Budapest. All requests for visit were rejected or simply ignored by the authorities.
On the 15th of June 2017 in Szeged, Hungary, Ahmed H. had his second instance trial which referred the case back to the first instance court to reconsider the terrorism charges due to “lack of reasoning and interpretation”. This reconsideration will take place on the 30th of October and continue on the 2nd of November. The trial against Ahmed H. is a racist showcase that tries to strengthen the idea that all migrants are terrorists and to criminalize protest against the EUropean border regime.

The demonstration takes place on Friday the 27th of October from 11 to 12 a.m. in front of the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna (Bankgasse 4-6, 1010 Wien).
Lets show them before the next trails start that we continue to struggle for the freedom of Ahmed and against the repression of state institutions! Migration is not a crime as fighting for freedom is not terrorism!
