STADT(T)-KLIMACAMP WIEN 2020

—–english below—- Das Klimacamp 2020 konnte aufgrund von Corona leider nicht im Juni stattfinden. Trotzdem wollen wir Utopien leben und Ideen des guten Lebens für alle entwickeln. Aus diesem Grund haben wir uns dazu entschieden, das Klimacamp vom 31. August -4. September 2020 in die Stadt Wien zu holen. Es gibt ein angepasstes Programm mit Summer Schools, Workshops, Diskussionsrunden, Podien und Musik! Gemeinsam mit euch wollen wir Anfang September Utopien und Visionen einer Gesellschaft spinnen, die auf Solidarität, Nachhaltigkeit und Freiheit baut. Dazu soll Raum für Diskussion, Vernetzung und Aktion entstehen. Hier ist uns eine intersektionale Perspektive der Klimagerechtigkeit wichtig, es wird Programm zu Anti-Rassismus, Queer-Feminismus und und und geben. Es gibt Programm für alle Altersstufen und in unterschiedlichen Sprachen. Wünschst du dir Übersetzung, Kinderbetreuung, barrierefreien Zugang, FLINT oder BIPOC-Räume oder was du sonst brauchst, um gut teilnehmen zu können? Gib dies bitte bei der Anmeldung an oder schreibe uns eine Mail. Das Programm besteht aus drei Teilen:

Aufgrund der Corona-Situation kann es zu kurzfristigen Änderungen kommen, schaut also bitte regelmäßig auf unsere Website und Social Media (siehe unten). Falls ihr nicht aus Wien seid, habt ihr die Möglichkeit, über eine Bettenbörse bei jemandem unterzukommen. Diese findet ihr rechtzeitig online. Während des Stadt(t)-Klimacamps werden auch noch helping hands gesucht - also Menschen, die bei der Betreuung von Workshop/Summer School-Leiter*innen, beim Kochen, Auf- und Abbau, sowie der Kinderbetreuung helfen könnten. Dear people!

Because of the current situation, the 2020 Climate Camp originally planned for June could unfortunately not take place in its usual form. However, we believe that now is the time to live utopias and develop ideas for a good life for all. For this reason, we have decided to bring the Climate Camp to the city of Vienna from 31st of August to the 4th of September 2020 - with a five-day programme consisting of summer schools, workshops, discussions, panels and music adapted to Corona circumstances! Together with you we want to spin creative visions and utopias of a society based on solidarity, sustainability and freedom.

The program is designed for all age groups and in different languages.

Would you like translation, childcare, barrier-free access, FLINT or BIPoC rooms or anything else you need to participate well? Please indicate this when you register or send us an email.

Corona has tightened the rules of the game of inequality and exploitation in neoliberal capitalism. While the worldwide lockdown threatens millions of people into acute poverty, the overexploitation of nature is being accelerated. The death of George Floyd and the worldwide #blacklivesmatter - protests in response to it, show that anti-racist work is needed at every place of education. Likewise the attack of Turkish fascists on a Kurdish women’s demonstration proves what is still anchored in the minds of many: Nationalism, patriarchal power structures and a fear of uprising of women, queers and LGBTI*people. Due to the still current Corona situation, changes may occur at short notice, so please check our website and social media regularly (see below).

With this year’s intersectional Stadt(t)-KlimaCamp, we want to send a sign of solidarity with those affected and oppressed by the crisis as well as those resistant to it. For this purpose, we want to create space for discussion, networking and action. We also want to reflect on our own role and positioning within the climate movement. We are aware that we too are not exempt from social structures and that we reproduce them in part. Through this year’s program we try to consciously face these issues, give them space and discuss with you why we cannot achieve climate justice without connecting this struggle with other struggles!

If you are not from Vienna and you are not able to organize your own sleeping place, you have the possibility to stay with someone else via a bed exchange. You will find this online in time. We are also looking for helping hands during the Stadt(t)-Klimacamp - people who could help with the supervision of workshop/summer schoolteachers, cooking, assembly and disassembly, as well as child care.
