Die Ausstellung RED VIENNA präsentiert das Thema Menstruation durch die Arbeiten von sieben Künstler:innen, die sich in verschiedenen künstlerischen Praktiken mit der Menstruation beschäftigen.
Ausgestellt werden architektonische, olfaktorische und Soundinstallationen, Malerei-en mit Menstruationsblut, Fotoarbeiten, Skulpturen und Videoinstallationen. Anlass der Ausstellung ist vergeschlechtlichte ‘Domestizierungsprozesse’, wie die Verdrängung der Menstruation in die häusliche Sphäre kritisch beleuchten und die Tabuisierung im öffentlichen Raum hinterfragen.
Hierfür soll ein Raum zur persönlichen und gesellschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung geschaffen werden, indem künstlerische und didaktische Angebote, wie Workshops, begleitend zur Verfügung stehen.
Das KMG Wien ist ein alkoholfreier Raum.

The exhibition RED VIENNA presents the theme of menstruation through the works of seven artists who deal with menstruation in different artistic practices.
On display are architectural, olfactory and sound installations, paintings with menstrual blood, photographic works, sculptures and video installations. The occasion of the exhibition is to critically illuminate gendered ‘domestication processes’, such as the displacement of menstruation into the domestic sphere, and to question the taboo in public space.
For this purpose, a space for personal and social confrontation is to be created by providing accompanying artistic and didactic offers, such as workshops.
This art exhibition takes place at KMG Wien, which is a non-discriminatory and alcohol free space.
