Using two concrete examples (LobauBleibt and local protest against illegal mining in Ghana), the joint panel discussion will focus on best practices and struggles of activists in particular and social movements in general against the climate crisis and environmental pollution in Austria and Ghana. We hope to highlight both differences and similarities and envision how social movements can lead to change. Where can we learn from each other? How can we see from activism that all struggles are interconnected?

Together we will pose these and other questions to panelists from Ghana and Austria - for sure all participants are invited to pose questions to the panelists as well.

The event will take place in a hybrid form: on the Campus of the University of Vienna with the activists and experts from Austria and online as the speakers from Ghana will be connected via Zoom. All participants are invited to join via Zoom, or those who are present in Vienna can join the event in the lecture hall.
