Eröffnung/Opening: Power to the People-Konferenz

Vom 24.-26. März findet die “Power to the People”-Konferenz in Wien statt. Unter dem Motto “Gaskonzerne verbrennen unsere Zukunft! Wir entfachen Alternativen!” stellt sie eine Gegenveranstaltung zur European Gas Conference (27.-29.03.) dar. Gemeinsam wollen wir Antworten auf die sozialen und ökologischen Folgen der Energie-, Klima- & Lebenskostenkrise diskutieren.

Am 24.03. wird die Power to the People-Konferenz mit einem Blick auf aktuelle Kämpfe eröffnet. Unter anderem mit dabei: Don’t Gas Africa, Don’t Pay UK, Jineolojî-Kommitte und BlockGas. Im Anschluss gibt es Essen und ein Konzert des Widerstandschors “Hor 29 Novembar”

On 24.03. the Power to the People conference will kick off with a look at current struggles. Among others, Don’t Gas Africa, Don’t Pay UK, Jineolojî Committee and BlockGas will be present. Afterwards there will be food and a concert by the resistance choir “Hor 29 Novembar”.

Am Wochenende vor der European Gas Conference veranstalten wir eine Gegenkonferenz in Wien: die Power to the People Konferenz. Wir werden nicht länger zuschauen, wie Konzerne und Regierungen die Zukunft verbrennen und uns in die nächste Krise stürzen! Die gemeinsamen Ursachen für Inflation, Klimakrise, Energiekrise und Krieg sind offensichtlich: ein auf Profit ausgerichtetes System, das Mensch und Natur ausbeutet. Krisen haben System. Dem setzen wir etwas entgegen!

In den drei Tagen erwartet euch ein vielfältiges Programm voller Workshops, Podiumsdiskussionen, Filmscreenings und vielen weiteren Formaten mit internationalen Teilnehmer_innen und Referent_innen.

Gas companies burn our future! We spark alternatives!

The weekend before the European Gas Conference, we are organizing a counter-summit: the Power to the People Conference. We will no longer watch as corporations and governments burn the future and plunge us into the next crisis! The common causes of inflation, climate crisis, energy crisis and war are obvious: a profit-driven system that exploits people and nature. Crises have a system. We oppose this!

During the three days you can expect a diverse program full of workshops, panel discussions, film screenings and many other formats with international participants and speakers.
