Staring Mountains delves into two pivotal revolutions of the 21st Century: one in southern Mexico led by the Zapatistas, alongside other organized indigenous communities, and the other in northeastern Syria through the revolutionary efforts of Kurds and Arabs in Rojava. Our exploration of these revolutions primarily revolves around captivating narratives that emerge from the mountains and the autonomous political ways of organization.
After the program presentations in the UK, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece, SlumilCinko Collective will present their activities in the cultural center of Alte Mensa in the organization of 4lthangrund with a journalist photo exhibition, artist talks, documentary films, book presentation, lectures and participatory workshops in newly reorganized Galerie Utopia.
The SlumilCinko Collective: Mauricio Centurión, Lorena Salamanca, Abril Rodríguez, and Lupita Valdez was established in Portugal during the Zapatista Movement’s Journey for Life (Gira per La Vida) in 2021. and since then have organized various artistic and activist projects with International networks between Europe and Latin Americas.
The program is open to all interested, bringing together civil organizations from the cultural center with the local migrant community engaging in artistic events by opening dialog and introducing people to each other, sharing experiences and life stories.
GALERIE UTOPIA
Galerie Utopia aims to investigate and discuss experimental models of social organization and present research projects with a focus on environmental transformations. The subject of the Galerie Utopia program emphasizes models of self-organized societies in different socio-political environments challenging the living conditions and re-imagining the meaning of social-national - and transnational narrative constructs in certain societies depending on their geo-political positions and their communities.

Staring Mountains se adentra en dos revoluciones fundamentales del siglo XXI: una en el sur de México liderada por los zapatistas, junto con otras comunidades indígenas organizadas, y la otra en el noreste de Siria a través de los esfuerzos revolucionarios de kurdos y árabes en Rojava. Nuestra exploración de estas revoluciones gira principalmente en torno a los cautivadores relatos que surgen de las montañas y las formas de organización política autónoma..
Tras las presentaciones del programa en el Reino Unido, Suiza, Italia y Grecia, el colectivo SlumilCinko presentará sus actividades en el centro cultural de Alte Mensa en la organización de 4lthangrund con una exposición fotográfica periodista, charlas de artistas, películas documentales, presentación de libros, conferencias y talleres participativos en la recién reorganizada Galerie Utopia.
Colectivo SlumilCinko: Mauricio Centurión, Lorena Salamanca, Abril Rodríguez y Lupita Valdez se creó en Portugal durante la Gira por la Vida del Movimiento Zapatista en 2021 y desde entonces ha organizado varios proyectos artísticos y activistas con redes internacionales entre Europa y América Latina.
El programa está abierto a todos los interesados, por lo tanto con el enfoque de reunir a las organizaciones civiles del centro cultural con la comunidad migrante local participando en eventos artísticos abriendo el diálogo y presentando a las personas entre sí, compartiendo experiencias e historias de vida.
GALERÍA UTOPÍA
La Galerie Utopia tiene como objetivo investigar y debatir modelos experimentales de organización social y presentar proyectos de investigación centrados en las transformaciones medioambientales. El tema del programa de la Galerie Utopia hace hincapié en los modelos de sociedades autoorganizadas en diferentes entornos sociopolíticos que desafían las condiciones de vida y re-imaginan el significado de las construcciones narrativas socio-nacionales y transnacionales en determinadas sociedades en función de sus posiciones geopolíticas y sus comunidades.
