Solidarity Fleamarket

Das Flüchtlingslager in Kakuma war in den letzten Jahren der einzige Ort in Kenia, an dem queere* Personen Zuflucht finden konnten, wenn sie aufgrund ihrer sexuellen Orientierung bedroht und/oder verfolgt wurden. Der Schutz dieser Personen wurde im Laufe des Jahres jedoch aufgehoben; seitdem bekommen sie nichts mehr zu essen und es häufen sich Angriffe auf ihr Leben. Wir stehen im Kontakt mit betroffenen Personen und wollen eine zügige, möglichst sichere Überführung der gefährdeten Personen in das nächstgelegene sichere Lager gewährleisten. Aus diesem äußerst dringlichen Grund widmen wir die Mai-Ausgabe des solidarity flea markets unseren siblings* in Kenya.

In recent years, the refugee camp in Kakuma has been the only place in Kenya where queer* people could seek refuge if they have been threatened and/or persecuted because of their sexual orientation. However, the protection of these people has been revoked in the course of the year; since then they have not been given food and attacks on their lives have become more frequent. We are in contact with the people affected and want to ensure that they are transferred to the nearest safe camp as quickly and safely as possible. For this extremely urgent reason, we are dedicating the May issue of the solidarity flea market to our siblings* in Kenya.
