Fast Fashion: a lot is spoken about the impact that fast fashion has on the environment, climate and its contribution to social and economic inequality. In order to sell more, the textile industry transformed the market towards a spiral of consumerism which reproduces modern and old forms of colonialism. “Threads of Change” is a collective effort of Kostnix-Laden, Die Schenke, The Needles and Science meets Art to propose a different perspective on consumption. We promote the culture of REpair, REuse and REpurpose of textile products instead of continuous consumption and disposal of almost-new clothes. We also propose a reality, that given the abundance of textile goods, is not based on money, but on giving, exchanging and caring for clothes and each other. Join us on this journey between performance, clothes gifting and discussion!
[DE] Fast Fashion: Es wird viel über die Auswirkungen der Fast Fashion auf die Umwelt, das Klima und ihren Beitrag zur sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Ungleichheit gesprochen. Um mehr zu verkaufen, hat die Textilindustrie den Markt in eine Konsumspirale verwandelt, die moderne und alte Formen des Kolonialismus reproduziert.

Wir fördern die Kultur des REpair, der Wiederverwendung und des REpurpose von Textilprodukten anstelle des ständigen Konsums und der Entsorgung von fast neuer Kleidung. Wir schlagen auch eine Realität vor, die angesichts des Überflusses an Textilwaren nicht auf Geld basiert, sondern auf dem Geben, dem Tauschen und der Pflege von Kleidung und der gegenseitigen Fürsorge.
