Stop Cop City - Presentation by indigenous activist Abundia
Presentation and Discussion on Stop Cop City 🌿Celebrating Abundance Tour by Abundia🌿
📍4lthangrund, Augasse 2-6, 1090 Wien 🗓️ 13. September 4 pm - Cooking with corn 5:30 pm - Eating together 6 pm - Talk and Exchange
Abundia Alvarados (she/her) is a Nahuatl-Chiricahua Apache Trans femme migrant from Tenochtitlan (Mexico City) currently living in the South of the US. Abundia is active in the movement defending the Weelaunee Forest against the construction of Cop City, a police training compound planned in Atlanta. She will share personal experiences of the struggle with us and talk about practices from a Nahuatl-Chiricahua Apache queer-trans-femme-migrant perspective. Abundia will draw connections between the struggle against Cop City in Atlanta and the broader land back movement. We will learn about Abundia’s journey to reclaim kitchen spaces as sites of resistance, when we will be cooking corn together.
We also ask for a pay-as-you-can solidarity entrance fee. The money collected will be used to cover the expenses of the event, benefit the @fisch.acker occupation, the Tierra Comida Libertad collective (TCL) and the travel expenses of Abundia.
