Antifa-Movement in Russia in the Shadow of War and Repression

Join us for a presentation and discussion on the anti-fascist movement in Russia and its struggles against war, repression and the rise of far-right ideologies. The focus will be on how the movements have been shaped by over a decade of war in Ukraine and the authoritarian regime, leading to internal divisions and severe repression.

We will also discuss the alarming rise of fascism in Russia and its links to the growing far-right movements in Austria and across Europe. Beyond analysis, the event will focus on the importance of building solidarity and bridges between anti-authoritarian left/antifa communities in Russia and Austria to strengthen resistance and mutual support in the face of these challenges.

This presentation is a call to action for transnational cooperation and solidarity in the fight against the far right and authoritarianism and is being prepared by an activist from Russia currently living in exile in Austria.
