Solidarity Flea Market #38
This month we dedicate our solidarity and support to the organization Kompas 071 Sarajevo. Sarajevo is a central transit point for people trying to reach EU countries from the global south, via the so called Balkan route. Kompas 071 is a Bosnian organization that runs a community center for people on the move (PoM) and people from the local population. In this solidarity space outside the two camps in Sarajevo, PoM can take clothes and toiletries from a free shop, use showers and sanitary facilities, charge their electrical appliances or simply warm up with coffee and tea. Not only is Kompas 071 the only space of this kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it also plays an important role in documenting human rights violations, such as pushbacks, and in monitoring developments in the regional (migration) policies. Especially now that winter is approaching, sturdy foot wear, warm clothing, weatherproof jackets and blankets are extremely important to ensure a humane (survival) life. We are pleased to to have the opportunity to support Kompas 071 in this important challenge.
