Kasho Chualan is a Kurdish-Canadian pianist, composer and transdisciplinary artist currently based in Vienna. She is currently occupied with experimenting with extended techniques, piano preparations, toys and tape. She is always on the constant search for new sounds that she can create through alternative ways, by manipulating the resonant bodies of instruments and challenging the social constructs of how an instrument should be played or perceived. She explores a variety of concepts, such as the necessity to fight for freedom and to break boundaries, embracing the sensibility in discovering details in many spectrums whether it is in the observation and nuances of human behaviour, sound, imagination, tactility, bodily movement, pushing self boundaries, confrontation and transparency through expression.
