KÖNIG LEOPOLD

There’s a new King in town. The young Vienna duo KOENIGLEOPOLD is the inventor and sole proprietor of a highly original musicaltheatrical style, a show that veers from virtuosic exultation to comedy to embarrassment, often in the course of a single piece. König’s drum and synth work is built on the best beats of the last fifty years - dismantled, reassembled and played at full volume on an ancient turntable sitting in a junkyard on the slope of an active volcano. We will listen to a dada MC, a gifted turntablist, a hopeless but convincing opera singer and a back-alley clarinetist … The music is a rollercoaster mixture of dirty hip-hop, rock and roll and weird takes on bubblegum pop punctuated by pure noise improvisations, played with high precision and a strange, fierce intensity that becomes positively unsettling when coupled with, say, the sounds of Darth Vader enjoying a nice steak (which can happen). It’s almost like they’re hearing voices onstage - but whether it’s the ghosts of Zappa and Biggie Smalls they’re channeling, the complete works of Monty Python in Cantonese or a doll that just says “Mama!” over and over again - the results are dangerously grooving and completely unique. When KOENIGLEOPOLD is holding court it’s best to pay attention.“

GUDRUN VON LAXENBURG

Gudrun von Laxenburg, formed in january 2009, is tekkno-punk-madness that gets even the walls sweating with 170bpm, brutal live drums and a half dozen analog synthesizers! Shrouded in out of this world LED outfits, GVL parties non stop on stage in front of a huge LED wall with a symbiotic live-VJ set that crushes every club! The sound of GVL contains independent tekkno and electro productions paired with elements of dubstep and the pure rock n roll feelin of live drums and dynamic synthlines ! Each track is rearranged for the live shows to accomplish a unique live experience that gets every single dancing shoe moving Shit´s out of this world!

CIRCUIT COOKING

Begehbare Klanginstallation & musikalische Interventionen In der Gallerie vom EKH wird es wie letztes Jahr eine Klanginstallation von Circuit Cooking geben, die vor und zwischen den Konzerten begehbar ist. Die Besucher können mit ihrem Schatten Parameter von lichtempfindlichen Synthesizerschaltkreisen steuern. Rund um die Installation werden kleinere Konzerte und Performances stattfinden.

LIONOIR

LionoiR ist düster, anmaßend, süß, laut, seltsam und melancholisch, und das nicht immer. Gloria Amesbauer und Sara Zlanabitnig mutmaßlich auf Bässen, Flöten, Stimmen, Spielzeug, Elektro und Effekten.
