sing & resonate - on how to experience your body as a powerful instrument
Have you ever had thoughts like….. ?
Oh boy, every time I go to a demo my throat gets soar within minutes from screaming but no clue how to change that… When I’m in emotionally exhausting situations I easily get quiet or tense up also it’s hard to speak up for myself idk….. I’d like to be loud and voice my anger more but I don’t know how to practise that…. I like singing but I’m super shy to sing outside of my shower but secretly would love to sing with other people….. I’d like to gain some knowledge about how to sing or speak to stand up for myself, for my comrades and for my loved ones
….then this is a cute opportunity to join a weekly get-together to sing & resonate :)
I’m Ines, a music lover and singer. I had the idea to open a weekly space which is free of charge and open for all peoples to come together and experience our bodies as instruments, as bodies of power, resonance and strength. There is no pressure of committing to showing up for every session of course. Every workshop is donation based (donations will go to a project/group I will announce in every class). This is an invitation for peoples who want to learn about speaking and singing techniques to get a better feeling for their bodies as instruments. We will do exercises and singing games to experiment with our whole body as a tool to create sounds and letting out noises and emotions that we are taught to keep low in a Eurocentric and patriarchal society. There will be a cute amount of clownery and theatrical energy to get away from the thought of “singing” as something to seek perfection in. This workshop is an invitation to come together in a caring community, to be loud, emotional, quirky, messy and get to know the bodies we live in a bit more.
MORE INFO & HOW TO SIGN UP: There are max. 20 places free for each session, you can sign up via ineskolleritsch@gmx.at, also feel free to write if you’ve got questions! The workshop will take place every week in May and June at “Yoga Dealerei” in Neubaugasse 59 / Stiege 2/ Tür 2 and is sadly not wheelchair accessible.
I’m looking so forward to seeing you and singing together <3
