Digital resistance and autonomy! Against digital fascism!
(Workshop languages: English, German)
Control your devices and protect your own data and the data of others
If you are using computers (including mobile phones), nowadays you have two choices:
- be in control of your devices
- be controlled by your devices (and those who control them)
To control your devices you need to understand how they work and what you are doing.
We are convinced that the battle for privacy is not lost, but it’s high time to act. We want to show you the principles of how the technology works, so that you can assess the situation yourself and are less vulnerable to pessimistic or optimistic whispers.
Emancipation - taking control of your own life - in particular requires taking control of the infrastructure you need for communication.
We also want to show you how you can use computers in a much more creative way than usual by running free software, and have fun exploring new possibilities.
Format: short talks alternating with hands on
Bring a laptop and curiosity and ask a lot!
