On having cake and eating it too is a primarily text-based publication project about feminine devouring. The project departs from a personal archive of materials collected over several years referencing metaphors around feminine devouring, appetite, consumption and desire. Quotes, pop-cultural references, images and film scenes are woven into a network of associations and reflected upon using queer-feminist theory as well as personal anecdotes. Putting these references in conversation with each other, the text blurs the boundaries of genre across literary, critical and pop-cultural discourses, destabilizing hierarchies between the academic and anecdotal.
