🫦 Cops auf die Nerven gehen! 🫦
Diesen Donnerstag (03.09.) findet am Yppenplatz das Grätzelboxfestival statt. Während das Festival vielen tollen Organisationen und Initaitiven Platz bietet, findet leider von 15:00 - 17:00 auch ein “Coffee with Cops” statt. Die Polizei versucht bei diesen Events besonders geschultes Personal einzusetzen um ein freundliches Image der Polizei zu vermitteln. Dabei streiten sie ihren systematischen Rassismus ab und wollen Kindern erklären wie toll es ist Polizist*in zu werden. EWWWW!
Einige andere Gruppen, haben bereits eigene Konzepte entwickelt, um am Donnerstag dem Cop-Bullshit etwas entgegenzuhalten, aber es wäre noch super wichtig, dass sich Leute finden, die von 15:00 - 17:00 da sind und sich zu den Cops setzen und deren Zeit verschwenden, sodass sie nicht ihre Propaganda verbreiten können. (& ihren Kaffee wegtrinken!)
Wie konfrontativ ihr dabei sein wollt, bleibt natürlich euch überlassen, aber da es auch ein Communityfest für die Menschen des Yppenplatz ist, sollte eine Eskalation vermieden werden. Insbesondere, wenn du selbst nicht regelmäßig von Polizeigewalt betroffen bist, wollen wir dich ermutigen diese Aufgabe zu übernehmen!

This Thursday (3rd of September) the Gärtzelboxfestival is happening at Yppenplatz. While this festival gives space to a diverse array of amazing initiatives and organisations, unfortunately there will also be a “coffee with cops” happening from 15:00 - 17:00. At these events, the police uses specially trained cops to project a friendly, fake image of the police. For example, they try to deny their systemic racism and try to lure young kids into a career at the police. EWWWW!
A few other groups have already developed their own plans, to counteract the cop’s bullshit, but it would still be really important to find people who can be present from 15:00 - 17:00 to talk to the cops and annoy them, so that they cannot talk to anyone else to spread their propaganda. (& drink all their coffee hehe!)
How confrontative you would like to be while doing that is up to you, but since the event is about centering the Yppenplatz community, it would be good to avoid any escalation of conflicts. Especially if you yourself are rarely affected by police violence, we would encourage you to take up this task.
